Logo for Galaxy Playland. I designed this logo to be used in a variety of formats and provided the client with a black and white version, a two-color version, and a vibrant full-color option. This project made me focus on the processes involved in creating a successful original design. Before I started a final design for Galaxy Playland, I needed to understand the fictional client and learn about potential competition. Galaxy Playland is a fun, space-themed pizza arcade. If it were a real business, I can only imagine how much fun a child’s birthday party would be here! Doing research into the competition and learning about what’s important to the client gave me a solid direction when I began sketching my thumbnails. I think research is so important when it comes to knowing how to make your logo stand out and grab attention!

Before I moved into a digital design space, I drew several possible ideas in my sketchbook. Creating thumbnails like this helped me firmly decide the best direction to go. From here, it was really easy to pick my most effective design and begin refining it in Adobe Illustrator.
